MANILA, Philippines — Rains will persist over most parts of Luzon due to the trough of a low-pressure area spotted off Batanes as well as the southwest monsoon.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with scattered rains could be expected over Ilocos, the Cordilleras, Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said the southwest monsoon or habagat is affecting the western section of northern Luzon.
The low-pressure area was monitored about 395 kilometers east of Basco as of 4 p.m. yesterday. The weather system is expected to dissolve within the next few days. - philstar.com
